Melanie has created, migrated and managed websites for the Queensland Government, the health insurance industry and community organisations since 2000.

 

As the Queensland Government Department of State Development's Web Communications Manager, Melanie was responsible for the department's intranet content and structure, as well as all external website content, liaising with and managing a number of external agencies on web design and useability.

 

Melanie has worked in a number of custom content management systems, as well as Sitecore, Sharepoint 2010, Wordpress, Wix and Blogger.

 

Melanie also has experience in Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, Pagemaker and Microsoft Project.

Communications and publishing

 

Melanie has extensive experience in book publishing as a writer and editor for Steve Parish Publishing and the Queensland State Government, and freelancing in these fields, as well as in graphic design and corporate identity.

 

This foundation facilitated Melanie expanding her skills into general marcomms roles for a number of Queensland Government agencies and. later, into web publishing and content management.

 

A specialist in corporate identity and plain language, Melanie has also trained staff in communications and in intermediate Microsoft Word.
